Ages 12-18

Main Street Theater’s Summer Shakespeare program enters its 9th summer at Rice Village with the second part of Shakespeare’s fascinating exploration of power, treachery, and honor: Henry VI Part 2. As the gentle English king comes of age, his wife Margaret plots against him with her secret love, the Duke of Suffolk. The Yorks and the Lancasters continue to escalate tensions, setting up the entrance of the greatest Shakespeare villain, Richard the Third. Students will create a fun “Previously on Henry VI” beginning scene to keep everyone in the full loop of the story. Our production provides teens an opportunity to jump headfirst into all the excitement, poetry, treachery, and swordplay of one of Shakespeare’s most unique adventures. Many great parts and many great battles are guaranteed! Come play with us! No previous Shakespeare experience necessary.
